The board consists of at least 9 members appointed by Governor: a majority must have recognized professional experience in administration of historical records or in a field of research that makes extensive use of such records; should be broadly representative of public and private archival and research institutions and organizations; 1 Native American Records position; 1 local Government Records position; State Historical Records Coordinator (State Archivist) and a designee from the Office of History/Archaeology are ex-officio (one must be appointed chair/coordinator for 4-year term).
