5 Members are nominated by the Chief Administrative Law Judge and appointed by the Governor. The members shall be appointed as follows: A member appointed by the Governor as chair; two members who, because of their employment or affiliations, may be classified as a representative of employees covered by this chapter; and two members who, because of their employment or affiliations, may be classified as a representative of employers covered by this chapter.

The commission has jurisdiction to hear appeals from final decisions and orders of the Alaska Workers' Compensation Board. Jurisdiction of the commission is limited to administrative appeals arising under this chapter.
